What to Know Before Your First Transaction

Key Takeaways
At Volet.com, identity verification is not required to get started, but completing it unlocks additional payment methods, card programs, payment tools, and higher transaction limits.
Your account has two types of balances: crypto (9 cryptocurrencies) and fiat (USD and EUR). You can swap any supported crypto or fiat currency at any time.
Depositing crypto costs nothing from Volet.com. The blockchain network fee is paid by the sender.
The cheapest fiat withdrawal method is a local bank transfer (from 1%). Withdrawing to an external Visa or Mastercard costs 3% plus 3 USD or EUR.
Volet.com cards are prepaid fiat cards, not crypto cards. They can be loaded only from your Volet.com balance.
1. Does Volet.com require identity verification?
It’s not required to get started — you can create a wallet and access basic account features on Volet.com without completing identity verification, though account limits may apply. For many users, these features are enough.
However, you can choose to complete the verification process if you want access to additional features. Verification unlocks additional payment methods, card programs, payment tools, and higher transaction limits.
The process asks for a government-issued ID and, in some cases, proof of address. At Volet.com, about 85% of verifications complete in under a minute.
Sometimes verification is declined. The most common reasons:
- The document is expired.
- The image quality is too low or blurry.
- The image resolution is below 800 × 600 pixels.
- Parts of the document are missing or unreadable.
- The document or image has been modified or edited.
Example. Maria signs up and submits her ID for verification. Her ID card has expired, so verification is declined. She renews her ID, resubmits it, and is approved on the next attempt.
If verification is denied, you will receive a reason. Read it carefully. The fix is usually straightforward: resubmit with a clearer photo, or use a different document. Opening multiple accounts to try again is not the answer. It makes the situation harder to resolve.
Address verification is separate from identity verification and has its own requirements. If you need it, check the accepted document types in the Help Center before you submit.

2. How do crypto and fiat wallets work in one Volet.com account?
Your account holds two types of balances. One is your fiat balances, in US dollars (USD) and euros (EUR). The other is your crypto wallets, which have a blockchain address for each supported coin. These two sides of your account are separate. Funds in one do not automatically move to the other.
You can fund your Volet.com account with either crypto or fiat. You can also choose to deposit crypto and have it automatically converted into fiat or a stablecoin (useful if you want to use only fiat without creating a crypto wallet).
Once the funds are in your wallets, you can swap them at any time:
- one cryptocurrency for another
- crypto for fiat
- fiat for crypto
- USD for EUR
- EUR for USD

3. Is my crypto actually mine, or does Volet.com hold it?
Your crypto wallets on Volet.com are custodial, so you don't hold your own keys or manage seed phrases. Volet.com manages the private keys and blockchain operations on your behalf. But your private key is split into multiple parts, with each part stored separately in different locations. Some parts are held by Volet.com, while others are securely held by our custodian.
Your account also benefits from multiple layers of protection. Your data is stored on encrypted servers built to banking-grade standards. You can enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to add a second verification code beyond your password.
You can also restrict account access to specific devices or locations.
One thing to remember: Volet.com support will never ask you for your password, 2FA code, or PIN. If someone does, it's phishing — not Volet.com.

4. Does Volet.com charge a fee for crypto deposits?
No. Depositing crypto to your Volet.com account carries no fee from Volet.com.
However there are two things to keep in mind: the sender may have to pay a blockchain network fee, and Volet.com charges a fee if you choose automatic conversion to another crypto or fiat currency.
Blockchain network fees are charged by the network itself, not by Volet.com. It is paid by the sender, not receiver. If you send crypto from your own exchange account, you pay the network fee on the exchange side. If someone sends crypto to you, they pay it.
Network fees can vary significantly between blockchains, so choosing the right network can make a difference. For example, a USDT transfer on Tron (TRC-20) may cost around $1–$4, while transfers on Arbitrum, Solana, or TON can cost just a few cents or less.
You can choose the cheapest available network without worrying about being locked into that network afterward. Volet.com has one USDT wallet and one USDC wallet per account, regardless of the network. You do not need separate wallets for different networks. This means you can receive USDT or USDC through one network and then send it onward through another supported network, without additional fees or intermediate steps.

Fees for crypto conversion. If you deposit crypto and want to receive another cryptocurrency or fiat instead, you can choose automatic conversion. The sender simply sends crypto to your Volet.com address using any available network, and Volet.com automatically converts the funds before they are credited to your wallet.
- For USDT and USDC, the conversion fee is a flat $1 regardless of the amount.
- For BTC, ETH, and other cryptocurrencies, the conversion is free but an exchange rate spread applies.

5. What are Volet.com’s deposit and withdrawal fees? What is the cheapest way?
Not all methods cost the same. The difference can be significant.
For deposits, the cheapest option is crypto: depositing directly to a crypto wallet is free from Volet.com for all supported coins. Depositing via Visa or Mastercard costs 3.5%.
For withdrawals, the options and costs differ depending on your destination:
- Transferring to another Volet.com account is free
- Withdrawing to a local bank account costs around $2–10 and is available in 30+ currencies
- Withdrawing via SWIFT costs 1% plus $25 — that’s expensive for small amounts
- Withdrawing to an external Visa or Mastercard costs 3% plus 3 USD or EUR
Withdrawing USDT TRC-20 from your crypto wallet costs a fixed 3.5 USDT (this is Volet.com's fee, that already includes the network fee). For USDT and USDC on other networks, the fee is a fixed 0.5 USDT or USDC. For BTC, ETH, and other non-stablecoin crypto withdrawals, the fee is approximately equal to the applicable network fee.
| Withdrawal method | Fee | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Transfer to another Volet.com account | Free | Sending to another Volet.com user |
| Local bank transfer | Around $2–10 | Regular fiat withdrawal in 30+ currencies |
| BTC, ETH and other crypto | Approximately the network fee | Crypto-friendly recipients |
| USDT / USDC (non-TRC-20 networks) | 0.5 USDT/USDC fixed | Stablecoin recipients |
| USDT TRC-20 | 3.5 USDT fixed | Tron network recipients |
| SWIFT | 1% + $25 | Large fiat transfers only |
| External Visa / Mastercard | 3% + 3 USD or EUR | Last resort |

6. How can I load my Volet.com card?
You can load your Volet.com card only from your Volet.com balances — any wallet in your account works.
Volet.com cards are prepaid fiat cards denominated in USD or EUR. They are not crypto cards. The card balance is always held in fiat. If the wallet currency differs from the card currency, the platform automatically converts the funds at the current exchange rate. You do not need to exchange the funds separately first.
You cannot load a Volet.com card directly from another card or bank account, an external crypto wallet, or a blockchain address. The funds must come from within your Volet.com account.

7. Why hasn’t my Volet.com transfer arrived?
A successful transaction on the sender's side does not always mean the funds have arrived instantly on the recipient's side.
Blockchain confirmations take time. The number of confirmations required varies by network. For crypto transfers, check the transaction status using the transaction ID (TXID) on a blockchain explorer for that network.
If you are sure that all confirmations are done but you still don't see crypto on your wallet, contact support and include a link to the transaction on the blockchain explorer. For example, for the TRON network, you can check your transaction on TRONSCAN.
For fiat transfers, processing times depend on the payment method and any intermediary banks involved. Local bank transfers take 0 to 3 business days. SWIFT transfers take 1 to 3 business days. If the transfer shows as completed but the balance has not updated, contact support with the transaction details.
For fiat transfers, processing times depend on the payment method and any intermediary banks involved:
- local bank transfers take 0 to 3 business days
- SWIFT transfers take 1 to 3 business days
- withdrawals to a bank card are usually instant, but in some cases may take up to 3 business days
If the transfer shows as completed but the balance has not updated, contact support with the transaction details.

8. How do I exchange currency inside my Volet.com account?
Currency exchange is available within the platform: just click Exchange on the main page after you log in.
You can convert:
- between your fiat balances (for example, from USD to EUR)
- between your crypto balances (for example, from BTC to USDT)
- between crypto and fiat balances (for example, from USDT to USD)
The exchange rate is fixed for 30 seconds after it appears. If you do not confirm within that window, a new rate is shown and you need to confirm again. The applicable conversion fee is shown before you confirm.
